Let's do this..

Alright, prices set. I'm ready for some photo sales. I know I posted this in the last post but take a look at my photos for sale here

I highly recommend metallic prints, even though a bit more expensive, they truly are beautiful though. If there's any issues at all, please let me know. If there's a size you want that isn't available, I'll make sure it happens for you. I can also make shirts and mugs and other stuff available. There's also downloadable files for sale if you'd like to give me a hand but don't want a physical copy.

My only current hang up is that I'm a terrible salesman. I'll just go ahead and admit it. I'm about to give you the honest run down and hopefully it'll help you decide to put one of my pictures on your wall. The honest truth is that $10,000 is my goal. That'll cover the essentials and allow me to take 2 necessary months off work.
If I can sell 250 prints and make $40 on each one, I'm golden. I truly feel like that's a reachable goal.

Let me know what you think in the comments or send me an email. If you really like this idea, buy a photo!

Motivation is fleeting..

So it's been a while here. I lost my motivation (I'll be honest,) and mostly lost hope that I could even do this at all. My birthday looms and I've racked up $39.13. 30th birthday, probably not. I think it's still safe to call this adventure a birthday gift, even if not for this one. A giant thank you to the folks that made this possible. Thank you even further to those that still support me even though I got blown off course. Let's  turn the page and start a new chapter.

Onto a totally new avenue, some of you know I'm a pretty serious hobby photographer. Haven't found my niche yet, but I have quite a few photos I'm pretty proud of. Those are photos I'd like to share with everyone, providing the opportunity to buy prints to support me and my quest to change my life forever.

Go ahead and cruise over to check me out at SmugMug.com It's not much to look at yet, but it's going to get better I promise.

Check me out on Flickr as well.

Until next time..

One step at a time..

So it's been a while. I've been so busy with the rest of my life I've neglected this blog for too long now. I need to remind myself to keep with it and make this stuff happen.
I need to figure out how to handle stress a little better, and I'm going to admit this.. here in front of the world. I miss my wife. She's working at a summer camp and is gone for 8 days a time. When she's home I hardly get to see her because of my other obligations and my never ending quest to make enough money to survive.

On a brighter note, I proudly exclaimed to the world that when I started the Birthday Boy project that I was going to start exercising and get myself into better shape for when I have surgery. I started to exercise pretty regularly about 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy to announce that I can now do 3 pushups and I've lost 15 pounds. I'm pretty proud of myself and I thought you all should know.

Another really awesome note: Joe strikes again. I can't thank him enough for all the help he's given me and the motivation to just keep going. In the mail today I received an envelope stuffed full of really cool robot stickers. If you're interested in having one of your very own you can find one here.

Shopping at Birthday Boy Fundraising

Tell me if this price is unreasonable and I'll change it. My goal was to still come out ahead after wepay takes their 3.something percent.

Once again, thanks everyone for your support.

Life certainly has a way of happening.

It's been a little while here since I posted at all. Viewing activity has been pretty steady here on the blog. Very few days of 0 views. I'm pretty excited about that.

My life has taken a crazy turn, with a new schedule and somehow all kinds of things happening. I've had very few opportunities to just stop and rest. I'm very tired.

This post is my promise to use every free second I have to make some fun stuff happen here. To finally get the store up and maybe get an event in the planning stages. Basically to take care of the things I've been neglecting due to a lack of time for myself.

Until next time.. stay tuned..

Everybody Dance

It finally happened..
Last night I got my first donation..

A giant thank you to Adam and Rachel of Modesto California.
I'll make sure your $25 gets a great home, and that you get something awesome in your mailbox!

I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank everyone else who has donated time to reposting links and saying nice things and to extend my appreciation to everyone that has subscribed. On the same note, if you're reading this, thank you for taking a minute to check things out.

About Me

It's been brought to my attention several times today that I'm lacking an explanation of who I am.
I guess I just think that everyone already knows me. For those of you that don't, I've compiled a compact story of how I became who I am. I truly encourage everyone to contact me and get to know me a little. I'm thrilled to answer questions and make friends.

Without further adieu..

Suck It, Paypal..

Ok, hectic weekend over and done with. Time to relax for a couple days and do it all over again.

So if you'll all look to the right, I've got a new widget over there from a place much better than paypal.
I know it'll be a pain to sign up with them (maybe it won't be, I know how reluctant I am to take the 12 seconds to create a new account) but I promise it'll be worth it.
I set the "end date" of the campaign to my birthday of next year (10/01/2013) so this thing will count down the days to my birthday and also show everyone how much money I've raised so far. I thought it was pretty sweet.

EDIT: In messing with the donation widget, for some reason it's default is $50, which is cool and all, but totally not necessary. To donate any amount, make sure you type it in the box before you hit the button.

Other good news: You don't even need to create an account, so that's one less worry for me.

The original rules still apply; donations of $10 or more will receive, in the mail, an 8x10 photograph of me, and I'll write you a handwritten letter to go along with it. So make sure, if you donate, to shoot me an email with your mailing address.

Speaking of sending me mailing addresses, all subscribers send me mailing addresses and prepare for awesome in your mailbox.
